After the series ended, Zumbo continued to Sugar Rush, where he has been the head judge for three seasons and two Sugar Rush Christmas spin-offs. Before joining Sugar Rush, Zumbo had his own long-form reality competition series called Zumbo's Just Desserts, in which contestants were tasked with creating increasingly difficult and creative confections. He is known for impeccable and creative desserts that push the boundaries. Zumbo is one of Australia's most famous pastry chefs and has been coined their "Willy Wonka". Returning this season is head judge Adriano Zumbo. The first round features teams who are striving to make it to round two in a set amount of time. In this competition, time management is all-important. The aim is to bake rapidly through a trio rounds. It's a baking competition with four teams competing. The host is great, but everything feels very rushed.I guess that's how they got the name for the show.Sugar Rush Christmas has a Christmas, as the name suggests. Other than that, the two main judges are just so dry and don't meld well together at all. Overall, this just became boring to me and didn't seem like fair ruling. Doing different flavors is great, I enjoyed watching what they came up with and some sounded super delicious, but I just didn't think it was fair to those who followed the prompt and nailed it on the head yet had "simpler" flavors were sent home when another team didn't even achieve the prompt, their treat was undercooked, but had different flavors so they got to stay. I just don't understand how that should be the basis when this is a show that takes place in America. Just seemed kind of dumb because I noticed the teams chosen to stay/win did not have the better dessert, but won because they were not doing traditional American Christmas flavors and this just became boring. That in itself isn't bad, but when they are choosing who stays, it's more based on who used traditional American Christmas flavors and who used ethnic flavors. ![]() The judges seem to enjoy the ethnic Christmas dishes the best. It was really fast everything!! I want to see cupcakes being thought out and being cooked! And more. that's weird!!Īgree with user marjoleinbrinkhuis. There isn't that much cupcake in the making here. Or when they present all the participants and a little bit of their story and business. And don't make me start with all those facial expressions she has. well, that's the worst guest they invited so far!! I mean, she's so ridiculous, unfunny, cringe worthy, with those "HEEE" that make her look like a male preteen trying to be funny to fit in but being ignored by the older people around. User dan_da_man-60288 say that youtuber was funny and the only one that made sense. I also like when the guest has something to do with the event were those final 1k cupcakes are going to be delivered, and of course, the theme in question. I saw one couple that were almost finished when they announced they lose. It is ridiculous that while judges are deliberating who's going to go home, participants are cooking and they don't know if they're going to be called out of the race!. The host is glucose intolerant!! And I prefer the fist host, Justin Willman. I bet even in their own country there must be someone with the first one before her. Muricans like to have "first one" on everything. And I doubt she has the first cupcake store. I guess she goes to the bathroom to spit the one bite she takes out of every cupcake. The other judge, Candance? is so so slim that you couldn't believe she even eat anything. Don't know why oh why they decided to invite that "dumbo" judge character to stay there (he even has another show!!) He's so hard to watch with that face!
